A 1 Night Stand Story
Construction foreman Cody McPherson always considered himself as straight as they come. That is until he finds himself falling for the handsome stonemason, Sam Denham, who constantly occupies his thoughts. He wants Sam, badly, and can’t get the man out of his mind. Worse yet, he isn’t even sure if Sam is gay. When he finds out that Sam has signed up with a dating service searching for a guy who looks exactly like him Cody is even more eager, and confused than before.
Sam can’t believe that he’s developed a huge crush on his obviously straight co-worker. Even worse, the job that allowed him to see Cody on an almost daily basis has ended and he desperately misses his buddy in a way that goes far beyond just friendship. In an effort to soothe his aching heart and body, he tries to get a blind date with someone like Cody so he can pretend for just one night that he holds Cody in his arms.
When Cody himself shows up as Sam’s blind date, he is at once elated and afraid of having his heart broken by just another straight guy looking to sample the gay life. He wants to be so much more than Cody’s 1Night Stand and if he’s given the chance, Sam will do anything to prove that love doesn’t discriminate based on gender.

“Hey, Cody.” He stole a quick glance at his chiseled jaw and scooted down a little more, then smiled at the dealer as his winnings doubled from a lucky bet. “I didn’t know you liked to hit the casinos.”
Cody cleared his throat, his low voice deep enough to remind him of stones grinding together. “Ah, yeah, I hit the tables from time to time.” He pulled some chips from his jacket pocket and said in a lower voice, “Actually, I’m here because I-I have a...uh, date. A blind date.”
Time slowed as Sam shoved a few chips onto a random number. Hope surged through him as Cody tossed a couple chips on the square next to his. The golden hairs on the back of his hand gleamed beneath the casino lights and the copper cuff he wore on his wrist peaked out from the edge of his cream shirt. Though Cody was surely there to meet someone else, he couldn’t help but look at his forbidden crush. The utterly handsome, utterly straight foreman who had turned his world inside out.
Cody met his glance for a moment, his hazel green eyes dark with some unnamed emotion before he turned his attention to the roulette wheel. Instead of his usual battered work clothes and hard hat, the handsome blond wore a dark suit that fit his muscular body like a glove. As Sam tore his eyes away from Cody’s broad shoulders, he forgot to breathe as he saw his black and lavender tie. A tie exactly like the one Madame Eve of the 1Night Stand matchmaking service said his blind date would be wearing.
The last of the bets were made and the pretty woman next to him made some dippy comment about ‘baby needing a new pair of shoes.’ Cody remained silent and smoothed a tanned hand over his tie while darting a glance at Sam. Swallowing, he tried to keep his tone casual. “I’m meeting someone here, too.” He mentally cursed his lack of smoothness and tried again. “A blind date.”
Cody kept his eyes glued to the roulette table. “Wonder if he’ll show up.”
Sam’s heart raced as he realized Cody had said ‘he.’ That meant Cody knew that Sam’s date would be a man. What were the chances that Cody would just happen to show up here, tonight, wearing that tie and meeting up with him? Either this was the biggest coincidence that fate had ever thrown his way, or Cody was his date.
Holy shit, Cody is my date!
Ann is Queen of the Castle to her wonderful husband and three sons in the mountains of West Virginia. In her past lives she's been an Import Broker, a Communications Specialist, a US Navy Civilian Contractor, a Bartender/Waitress, and an actor at the Michigan Renaissance Festival. She also spent a summer touring with the Grateful Dead-though she will deny to her children that it ever happened.
From a young age she's been fascinated by myths and fairytales, and the romance that often was the center of the story. As Ann grew older and her hormones kicked in, she discovered trashy romance novels. Great at first, but she soon grew tired of the endless stories with a big wonderful emotional buildup to really short and crappy sex. Never a big fan of purple prose, throbbing spears of fleshy pleasure and wet honey pots make her giggle, she sought out books that gave the sex scenes in the story just as much detail and plot as everything else-without using cringe worthy euphemisms. This led her to the wonderful world of Erotic Romance, and she's never looked back.
Now Ann spends her days trying to tune out cartoons playing in the background to get into her 'sexy space' and has learned to type one handed while soothing a cranky baby.
